Eight men arrested for alleged housebreaking, theft of dog and fraud following Police Scotland cross-border operation
Whilst dealing with three incidents relating to alleged thefts of quad bikes in South Lanarkshire, police enquiries identified individuals who were suspected of committing bogus worker offences, theft and fraud across Scotland.
These offences were recorded throughout the Lanarkshire, Tayside, Lothians, Scottish Borders and the Highland & Islands areas.

Hide AdLanarkshire police teamed up with police divisions in these areas of Scotland to carry out enquiries.
An operation was also put in place with Cumbria Police to arrest those involved as it is believed the suspects were in the Cumbria area.
In total, eight men have now been arrested for alleged offences such as theft – including theft of a dog – fraud and theft by housebreaking.
The value of these crimes is approximately £169,420, Police Scotland has confirmed.
A report has been sent to the Procurator Fiscal.

"Thanks to the thorough enquiry carried out by officers in both Scotland and England, we were able to arrest eight individuals.
"This display of professional and efficient work is an example of exemplary policing in the UK. Bogus crime and Fraud costs victims thousands of pounds each year and tackling this type of crime remains a high priority to Police Scotland."
