McBride, one of Scotland’s most prominent lawyers, died suddenly last Sunday while on a business trip with fellow lawyer Aamer Anwar in Lahore.
Both lawyers had attended a wedding the previous evening, but McBride returned to his room early, feeling unwell.

A postmortem examination found there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death.
It also found no sign of any injuries and concluded that McBride had died in his sleep through natural causes.
Anwar, a human rights lawyer, said McBride’s body was brought home yesterday.
He will be laid to rest at St Conval’s Cemetery in Barrhead tomorrow, following a requiem mass at St Aloysius’ Church in Garnethill, Glasgow.
Anwar said: “It is not a cliché to say that Scotland has lost a son.
“For many, Paul McBride was an outstanding and fearless lawyer, a good friend and loving son and partner.
“I hope the fact that Paul is now finally back home will provide some peace and comfort.

“I would ask now for some privacy.”
