Royal family join others in wishing Boris Johnson a speedy recovery
The Queen and members of her family have wished the Prime Minister a speedy recovery following news of him in intensive care.
Boris Johnson was moved to ICU after his coronavirus symptoms worsened yesterday, with Downing Street warning that he may need to be put on a ventilator as he fights off coronavirus infection.

Hide AdHis condition remained stable overnight and the Prime Minister appeared to be “in good spirits”, according to a Downing Street spokesman, but he still remains in intensive care.
A statement from Buckingham Palace read: “Earlier today The Queen sent a message to Carrie Symonds and to the Johnson Family.
“Her Majesty said they were in her thoughts and that she wishes the Prime Minister a full and speedy recovery."
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge also shared their concerns for Boris Johnson and wished him well.
Prince William posted on Twitter: “Our thoughts are with the Prime Minister and his family, who like so many in the UK and around the world are affected by coronavirus.
“We wish him a speedy recovery at this difficult time. William.”
Political leaders across the UK reacted to news of Boris Johnson being moved into intensive care last night.
First Minister Nicola Sturgeon tweeted: “My thoughts are with the PM and his family - sending him every good wish.”

Hide AdJackson Carlaw, leader of Scottish Conservatives, posted on Twitter yesterday saying: “On behalf of the Scottish Tories, can I express grateful thanks for all the many messages of support for Boris Johnson tonight from across the world of politics.
“This is hugely appreciated and a visible expression that we are #AllInThisTogether.”
Labour leader Keir Starmer also shared his concerns after hearing the news.
He said: “Terribly sad news. All the country’s thoughts are with the Prime Minister and his family during this incredibly difficult time.”
MP for Ross, Skye and Lochaber Ian Blackford said the news was “worrying” and wished Boris and his family well after hearing Carrie Symonds is also suffering with COVID-19 symptoms.
He posted on Twitter: “So sorry to hear that Boris Johnson is now in intensive care.
“This is very worrying news. Thoughts and prayers with Boris, Carrie Symonds and all their family.
“This is such a terrible virus that we all must take seriously. Get well soon Boris, look forward to you being back.”
