Date released by the Scottish Government breaks down the number of positive covid-19 cases per 100,000 people, according to neighbourhood. The following list highlights the top 12 areas in Scotland with the highest number of coronavirus cases per 100,000 population over the course of seven days.
This data is from October 3 to October 9 2020.
Glasgow City remains the worst hit area with 248.6 cases per 100,000 people while at the bottom of the scale, and not included on this list, sits the Shetland Islands with only two new confirmed cases of coronavirus over this seven day period.
1. Glasgow City

2. The City of Edinburgh

3. South Lanarkshire

4. East Renfrewshire
In East Renfrewshire there were 114.1 positive cases of coronavirus per 100,000 people between September 27 and October 3. In total, 109 positive cases were recorded in this area over the seven day period. Photo: Google
