Roger Edwards departs Royal London
The changes affect the firm’s pensions and UK protection businesses which are being centralised.
But Edwards, who was responsible for Bright Grey and Scottish Provident, did not wish to be considered for the role of marketing director. Ewan Smith has been appointed proposition and strategy director.

Hide AdHugh McKee, chief executive of Royal London’s intermediary division, said: “We are starting to restructure the division to help deliver greater efficiency while continuing to provide strong expertise in our chosen markets.
“Roger Edwards has decided not to be considered for a role in the new structure and will leave the company in due course to pursue new challenges.
“I would like to thank Roger for his very significant contribution throughout his 12 years with Royal London and to wish him well in the future.
“Roger will continue in his current role in the meantime and will support a smooth transition to the new structure of the intermediary division.”
