The Started in Edinburgh collective “is focused on promoting the city’s dynamic tech start-up ecosystem to the outer world”.
Launching the group at the National Museum of Scotland last week, founding partner James Varga of online security firm MiiCard said there was a need to counteract the perception the city was just about finance, adding: “It’s about getting the world presence Edinburgh can support and deserves.”

Hide AdHe said the group was negotiating with the city of St Louis, which is interested in a launch pad to Europe for US firms.
