Watch: Shoppers take to eerily quiet streets of Glasgow for Black Friday during a pandemic
Usually the streets are mobbed with hordes of focused shoppers who know what they want and where to get it for the best deal.
But this year, coronavirus took its toll on the shopping extravaganza that is Black Friday.

Hide AdOne woman said: “So far it’s been pretty quiet, we were out for a coffee and honestly I forgot that it was Black Friday because nobody is here.”
Another said: “The streets are just so quiet, it doesn’t feel like there is the urgency and rush that there normally is, it’s not exciting.”
Another woman appropriately said that she thinks ‘Black Friday is very black in Glasgow this year’. She continued to say: “Fraser’s has got beautiful lights out but the town is just
dead, hopefully in another couple of weeks it will all pick up.”
