After parting company from a major label with a few ‘advert-friendly’ tracks under the belt, The Milk have found a new home on indie label Wah Wah 45s. Now more comfortable with their sound and direction, the band are currently on tour supporting their latest soul-heavy album Favourite Worry and will be taking to the King Tut’s this evening.

EXHIBITION: MUSEUM LATE: VICTORIAN SENSATION
A night at the museum may be in order this Friday, as NMS puts on a night full of the charm of the Victorian era. Tying into their current exhibition of photography of the 1900s, the museum will play host to a gin parlour, piano singalongs, magic shows and a talk on the history of the Victorian art of tattooing. Not to mention the following silent disco and a performance by Glasgow rockers Honeyblood. Who said museum visits are stufffy?

EVENT: COWGATE SMURFATHON
With Children in Need scheduled for tonight, what could be more charitable than spending your evening doing your bit covered in blue paint? Edinburgh looks to challenge the world record for the most smurfs gathered in one location (currently held by a massive 2,510 smurf gathering in Swansea) with all entry money raised going to Children in Need. There’s a planned performance by Papa Smurf himself, as well as a speed-dating event for any single smurf and smurfettes out there.
