Remember when: Tracking train accidents over the years
Emergency workers rushed to the trackside when the 7:31am passenger train from Musselburgh and the London to Edinburgh service crashed into each other.
Breathing a sigh of relief that nobody had been hurt, they watched with amazement as the guard of the London train walked free from the wreckage, despite his van being smashed in the impact.
