One to watch
The company has been a sluggish counter for some time but this could be about to change as some of its dozen or so projects begin to become revenue-generating. Since the end of the latest reporting period, Eredene closed a successful bid for the concession to develop the container terminal in the port of Ennore and the acquisition of a stake in Ocean Sparkle, a port services company. These support Eredene's existing portfolio of interests in port and related activities, which are key elements in the Indian government's drive to modernise the country's infrastructure.
True, for prospective investors the lack of a dividend distribution for the foreseeable future, and the real possibility that the company may require further funds to develop its investment portfolio, might inhibit near-term progress but for those who believe in India's growing importance on the world stage Eredene Capital could be a stock worth monitoring.
