A SUNNY day in Edinburgh brought actor James McAvoy face to face with novelist Irvine Welsh on the set of a film based on his book Filth in the city’s Grassmarket.
McAvoy, who shot to fame after making a breakthrough on TV series Shameless, spent the day in the capital filming the screen adaptation of the Trainspotting author’s 1998 book. He also chatted with fans and signed autographs.
