Strong message
As the representative body of the Jewish community of Scotland we remain concerned about the revised Church and Society report to the General
Assembly on The Inheritance of Abraham (your report, 18 May).
Though the excesses of language in the original report have been modified, the unacceptable underlying message remains unaltered.
The recent joint statement from the Church and the Jewish community acknowledged that “there is an equal concern amongst both communities for justice and peace”, but sadly the revised report will still contribute to the climate in which Jewish people in Scotland overwhelmingly report to us that they feel uncomfortable, alienated and unsafe.
