A HISTORIC building on the Isle of Raasay, off Skye, has been extensively damaged in a fire.
Raasay House, now an activity centre, was undergoing a major renovation programme. The local community was awarded 1 million from the Big Lottery 18 months ago towards the estimated 3.5 million purchase and renovation bill. The fire service said damage was substantial but no-one was hurt in the blaze, which started early yesterday morning.
